Why Shot Arc Affects Shooting Percentages
Shooting Arc Affects Shot Depth
There is a sweet spot in the mid 40’s where a player can have the most variation in their shot, but not affect the depth that the basketball enters into the rim. Higher shooting arcs in the 50’s will leave little room in variation, and can result in very different shot depths. This is the reason why many players miss too short or too long even if they are shooting with the same amount of force. A player cannot reach their full potential as a shooter until they develop a consistent 45° arc. In the video above our CEO, John Carter, explains this further during one of our Noah Basketball Shooting Clinics. Watch the video above to see how shooting the incorrect shot arc will lower player shooting percentages.
